”There are many reasons why people end up homeless – redundancy, a relationship breakdown, poor mental health, alcohol/substance addiction, domestic abuse.
The streets are a dangerous place to be – homeless people are 13 times more likely to be a victim of violent crime than the general public, and 47 times more likely to be a victim of theft.
Homeless people have a right to being treated with the same respect as anyone else. In a recent study though, almost two thirds of rough sleepers said they had been insulted by a member of the public, and shockingly, one in ten said that they had been urinated on.”

I woke up yesterday morning in my lovely warm bed, in a lovely warm room, in a lovely warm home. I was so utterly grateful to be comfortable, warm and safe. My mind drifted to all those that might not be waking up to such a luxury; but instead waking up on a side street or down an alley way; cold and hungry. I thought of all the homeless people living on the streets of London.
I thought of how I could help. I wanted to make a difference to someone’s life. I wanted to make someone feel better, even momentarily. So I thought of an idea. The idea is to try raise as much money as possible in just 24 hours and use that money to buy blankets and food to distribute to the homeless people of London on Christmas Eve.
I immediately phoned one of my best friends, Fan and we discussed the idea. The idea is now a plan of action and as of today, Monday 22nd December 9.10am until Tuesday 23rd December 9.10am we will be hoping to raise as much money as possible to buy the necessary things we need for the homeless people. On Christmas Eve, we will be driving around the city and distributing these gifts to all who we see in need.
And so we ask you, the public, to first of all remember to be grateful for all you have not just during this Christmas period, but always; and secondly to donate a minimum of £5 to help someone less fortunate this Christmas. You can donate by clicking the link below or inserting the link into your web browser.
We will let you know how we got on with pictures and videos.
